Stephen M. Mount is an associate professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics with an appointment in the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

He is a molecular geneticist interested in splice site selection during pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes, and his laboratory takes a genetic approach to this problem.

Mount received his doctorate from Yale University.
